to Residential and Business Customers Using Carrier-Class
SIP Platforms
FREMONT, Calif. and VON Europe, London
UK June 9, 2003 BayPackets, Inc., a provider
of enhanced voice and data solutions for wireless, wireline
and cable operators and Cirpack, a leading vendor of
next generation voice switches for telecom operators
infrastructures, today announced an agreement to promote
joint solutions enabling service providers to deploy
enhanced voice services cost-effectively over any traditional
or next generation network infrastructure. The solutions
are made of Cirpacks SoftSwitch and Media/Signaling
Gateways and BayPackets RSI Network Services Platform.
These field-proven products are connected using SIP
technologies and have shown perfect interoperability.
Carriers are increasingly seeking
flexible SIP-based platforms that enable them to generate
revenue by providing advanced voice and multimedia services
to their customers, said Jean-Pierre Dumolard,
chief executive officer of Cirpack. Our agreement
with BayPackets expands the portfolio of applications
we can provide to customers using SIP technologies,
such as voice over VPN, messaging, advanced toll-free
and single-number service. BayPackets service
platform has proven its reliability in the field and
will help operators migration to next generation
networks.
As a leader in the international
SoftSwitch and gateway market, Cirpack technology has
consistently proven its value through deployments with
leading carriers, said Ken Epps, president and
chief executive officer of BayPackets. We are
excited to work together with Cirpack to provide carrier-class
solutions enabling operators to deliver advanced telephony
services across all types of networks simultaneously:
legacy TDM, ATM and IP. This partnership will allow
both companies to build market share and help SIP become
a standard.
Under terms of the agreement, BayPackets
and Cirpack will work together on sales and marketing
initiatives, with both companies providing referrals
through their existing partner and system integration
networks. The companies verified interoperability
enables them to offer service providers a complete,
